The Rumba, one of the most beautiful Latin-style dances and one of the great ballroom dances of the early Twentieth century, originated in Cuba. It’s danced in a box step but with an open frame. Partners frequently separated and were seldom in a tight embrace.
Fast-paced and free-wheeling, with lots of movement through the hips, the Rumba invited everyone to join the dance.
