Summerween Is Here: Why Now Is the Best Time to Shop Spooky Jewelry

A quick note: this post was written in July 2026, right after an in-person show. Some of the specific pieces and availability mentioned below may have changed since then, but everything about Summerween itself is still very much true.

This past weekend, at an in-person show in the middle of July, my Coquette Ghost earrings sold out. Not in October. Not even in September. July.

So if you have been quietly eyeing something witchy or spooky while everyone around you is still deep in summer mode, take this as your permission slip. You are not early. You are exactly on time.

Summerween is not made up, and you are not weird for loving it

If the word is new to you, Summerween is the delightful, slightly rebellious idea that Halloween season does not have to wait for a calendar to say so. It has been growing for a few years now, and it is exactly what it sounds like: spooky spirit, summer weather, and zero apologies. For anyone who has ever felt a tiny flicker of guilt about wanting witch hat earrings in July, consider this your official release from that guilt.

Small batches mean early is smart, not just fun

Here is the practical case for shopping now (and my ghost earrings just made it for me): Every clay piece I make is small batch, which means once a batch sells out, it is gone until I make the next one (which I will, but the re-stock might not be quick). That is charming right up until it is the reason you missed the exact pair you wanted. Shopping in July instead of waiting for October means you get the first pick of a season's designs, rather than whatever happens to be left once everyone else has already had a turn.

Spooky does not have to wait for sweater weather

One more myth worth clearing up is this: that witchy and fall-toned pieces are not just for cardigans and boots. Pumpkin studs or a black cat pair works just as well against a sundress or bare shoulders as it will in October against flannel. Think of it less as "fall jewelry" and more as "your jewelry, which happens to love fall." No wardrobe overhaul required, just add earrings.

What's turning heads right now

A little insider update from that same show. The Coquette Ghost earrings sold out on the spot, and they will be posted on my website as soon as the next batch is ready, so this is genuinely your earliest possible access. Also flying off the table: pumpkin studs, acorn studs, black cat studs, and the mismatched pumpkin and black cat pair, which turned out to be a favorite for anyone who wanted to add an extra bit of whimsy to their day.

The witchy boots and witch hat pairings, both matched and mismatched, drew plenty of admiring looks too, and are already live and ready to shop if either has been sitting in your wishlist.

Get first access before the rest of the internet catches on

The Coquette Ghosts, pumpkins, acorns, and black cats are being added to the shop shortly, starting with the ghosts. If you would rather not refresh the page daily hoping to catch them, join the Fairy Circle and I will simply tell you the moment they land, along with any future restocks.

In the meantime, the witchy boots and witch hat pairs are already live and waiting for a new home.
